A personal project of mine to practice my high-poly workflow! I'm in the process of creating a stylized modular tree heavily inspired by Cartoon Saloon's art style in films like "Wolfwalkers" and "Secret of Kells". I am working on making the branches and trunk all modular pieces that can be used together in a kit to create multiple tree variations to be used in level creation.
So far I've completed the base tree based off of my concept art. I modeled and sculpted with a combination of Blender and ZBrush, re-topoed using Cozy Blanket, and created the textures in Substance Painter and Photoshop. I then imported the model with textures into UEFN where I used the LoD settings to create 3 different levels of detail.
Next steps: cut down on the amount of leaf planes to bring down the over all tri-count on the base model. Then I'll start using the modular pieces I've created to make different tree variations to show off the potential of the kit.
